A display in our 17th century barn theatre celebrating the art of the scene painter.
'The Art of Scene Painting' is a retrospective of Dave Brind, who began scene painting at the Barn Theatre as a young man and who went on to become a scene painter at The Royal Opera House.
Located in the Barn Theatre at Smallhythe, this fascinating display explores Brind's work as well as the techniques involved in his craft.
Examples of Brind's work from backdrops to banners will fill the stage and around the auditorium, shining a light on this much overlooked but highly critical aspect of theatre artistry.
This display is free with standard admission
