Tenterden u3a meets on the third Thursday in the month at 2.00 p.m. until 4.00 p.m. in St Mildred's Church Hall, Church Road, Tenterden. There is a speaker at the Monthly Meeting from September to July and an opportunity to meet other members over tea and a biscuit. "Come to a meeting and see what we are about".
The Christmas meeting is often more interactive and festive: we have had quizzes, a local version of 'Desert Island Discs' and an imaginary trial with the audience acting as the jury, and a talk on the history of Christmas. In 2024 this is on the 2nd Thursday.
Every fourth Friday we have a "Drop in for Coffee" at The Vine in the High Street between 10.30 and 12.00. Members, new members and anyone considering joining are very welcome.
Each year we normally organise a Study Morning. Follow the links to learn more about past Study Mornings.

The History of Champagne
Who doesn’t love a glass of champagne, but how many of us know what goes into producing this delicious fizz? Peter is a bon viveur and entertaining speaker. He will take us on a journey beginning with the earliest fossilised grapes, the invention of champagne itself, how it is made and the advances in the process over the years, culminating in the delicious product we enjoy in the present day. There will also be many amusing titbits of information with which to regale your next dinner party or celebration.

This entertainment is a light-hearted look at the ups and downs of life as we mature (physically at least) told through comic verses and songs. It is a bittersweet comedy showing the enduring value of the simple things in life, told with humour and insight.
