... and now The Local Tenterden Christmas Market - the Fringe Tenterden Christmas Market

Although the main Tenterden Christmas Market has now wrapped up for another year, the festive cheer continues on Saturday 13 December 2025, when Tenterden will host three delightful fringe Christmas markets - each showcasing talented local artisans and offering a wonderful opportunity to explore Tenterden’s independent shops. Visitors can browse unique gifts and seasonal treats at Highbury Hall, The Woolpack Barn (also open on Sunday 14 December), and East Cross Layby. Both The Woolpack Barn and East Cross Layby will also be supporting The Tenterden Big Wrap - so do pop by, show your support, and buy a raffle ticket to help spread a little extra Christmas cheer.

All three markets are located on or just seconds from the High Street, and to make the day even more inviting, Council car parks will be free on Saturday 13 December, as well as 6–7 and 13–14 December. A perfect chance to do some Christmas shopping, discover hidden gems, book a table for lunch, support local, and enjoy a festive day out in Tenterden. Save the date - Saturday 13 December.

And there’s even more happening in town: the Tenterden Lions Christmas Float will be in the High Street all day, bringing plenty of festive cheer. At 3pm, join the Carol Service outside the Zion Baptist Church, and don’t miss the last day at Tenterden Museum to pick up your Christmas cards. You can also book a Christmas Bottomless Brunch at Brunch & Brew, and enjoy seasonal and festive menus in pubs and restaurants all across Tenterden.

The Tenterden Christmas Market begins at 12noon on Friday 14 November to Sunday 23 November, bringing festive fun to Tenterden. The first part of the market - the Marquee Market, stretches from the Ozgur Restaurant to Station Road. Later that afternoon, the Tenterden Town Christmas Lights will be switched on.  Then 21-23 November (Friday to Sunday) the Christmas Market extends right along to East Cross, creating a wonderful festive atmosphere throughout the High Street with a large number of new traders, attractions, and festive entertainment.

 

Visitors can enjoy over 100 festive stalls throughout the High Street, the Christmas Tree Festival at the Zion Baptist Church (Friday and Saturday), Christmas Cards at Tenterden Museum, and the Big Wrap Christmas Craft Fair in the Woolpack Barn featuring 20 stalls. There will also be plenty of artisan crafters at Sid’s Emporium and Ethel Loves Me, offering a wonderful selection of handmade gifts and decorations.

 

Join us in Tenterden for a fantastic Christmas shopping experience. Visitors will find a wide range of street food, mulled wine, and festive treats, alongside the town’s many independent shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants. Live festive entertainment will take place across three stages throughout the weekend, featuring performances and music from local groups to keep the atmosphere lively and bright.

• KESR/STATION ROAD - BEST VALUE PARKING - Tenterden Town Station car park on Friday-Sunday 14-16 Nov and Friday-Sunday 21-23 Nov £8 all day (opens one hour before the Market starts and 30 mins after the Market closes) cash or card,180 spaces at the Kent & East Sussex Railway.  From the A28/High Street by the Vine Inn drive down Station Road and go over the level crossing, the car park is immediately in front of you. 300 yards from the High Street. 
• Tesco car park is free for 2 hours for customers. ANPR (registration number checking) to make sure you don't park for longer (large fines if you overstay)
• The streets surrounding the town - FREE - please follow normal parking rules
