The subject will the 'The Hooden Horse of Kent' and will be given by James Frost. The traditional Christmas house-calling custom of hoodening was unique to East Kent before WWI. Now its key character, the Hooden Horse, can be seen at folk festivals throughout the year. But where does it come from and how does it relate to similar customs elsewhere? James Frost is an artist, designer, puppeteer and a lecturer in Theatre Design. Expect a lively and entertaining talk and the chance to meet a Hooden Horse! We recommend it to you.
