Smarden Christmas Tree Festival 2021
St Michaels Church Smarden
10th, 11th, 12th December 2021
11am-6pm each day
You are warmly invited to join us for our 8th Smarden Christmas Tree Festival. Held every two years, it has become firmly established in the village calendar. It involves a huge number of people across the whole spectrum of the local community – planners, organisers, crafters, makers, decorators, stewards, bakers, refreshments servers, musicians … the list goes on.
We hope that you have a wonderful time with us, and are amazed by the creativity and humour of those who enter a tree in the event. They all add up to a church full of sparkling, glittering Christmas joy.
# Please take time to vote for your favourite tree. The prize for ‘Best in Show’ will be awarded after the Village Carol Service, which starts at 6.30pm on Sunday 12 December.
# You may like to place a star with a personal message on our Memory Tree. Your donation of £1 per star will go towards supporting the work of PORCHLIGHT- the local charity for homeless people. See www.porchlight.org.uk
# Browse the items for sale on the Crafts Stall – including a wide range of items handmade in Smarden, such as aprons, bags of different types, gifts for children, as well as our popular ‘ pre-loved Christmas decorations box’.
# Buy some delicious Christmas- themed foods including sweets, biscuits, Christmas cakes and puddings, breads, mince pies, flans, sausage rolls, jams and chutney.
# Sit down and chat with friends, whilst enjoying tea, coffee or mulled wine and a cake or mince pie.
# Buy a raffle ticket – exciting prizes on offer.
# Children can have a go in the Toy Tombola. They may also like to have a go at the quiz, or play ‘Hunt the Church Mice’.
Many thanks to our sponsors: Ken Mulholland (ABC), Countryside Properties and Jackie’s News, Plurenden Dairy, Kent &Sussex Tea and Coffee Company and Hackett Gardens.
## Finally, please make a very generous financial donation in the glass jar by the font. All monies will go towards the work of the Church in Smarden.
We hope that you have a thoroughly enjoyable visit.
