1-14 October
For Southern Water works. "We are installing a new pipeline from the High Halden
Wastewater Treatment Works to the Tenterden Wastewater Treatment Works catchment. The pipeline will allow sewerage to be treated to a higher standard that meets new environmental regulations. On Tuesday 1 October we’ll be starting work along the A28 to connect the new sewer. We’ll be working between the junctions of Shawlands Lane/Hookstead and Halden Close for a period of about 2 weeks. From Tuesday 1 October 2024 we’ll have 2-way traffic lights on the A28 between the junctions of Shawlands Lane/Hookstead and Halden Close for a period of about 2 weeks. To minimise impact to the local community the traffic lights will be manually controlled Monday to Saturday between the hours of 7am and 9.30am. On Saturdays they will also be controlled between the hours of 3.30pm and 7pm.
