Sunday 8 November 2020
Live streaming from St Mildred's Church at 10.45am
The Service of Remembrance in the High Street by the War Memorial has attracted hundreds of people in each of the past few years. Clearly it will be impossible to hold a similar service safely this year so this year will be rather different. Tenterden Town Council, St Mildreds Church, Royal British Legion. On Remembrance Sunday this year, we will be remembering the fallen in an appropriate way to protect residents and our veterans.
A Service of Remembrance will be streamed for all residents to watch via St Mildred's website both on Remembrance Sunday and on Armistice Day itself (11th November of course). Each service will be by invitation only. Those attending the Remembrance Day service will be representatives of the Town Council, Royal British Legion and the local Churches. This will replace the parade and service at the Tenterden War Memorial.
If you know of a veteran who would like to watch the service but does not have the technology to do so, if you can safely socially distance, we would appreciate you helping them to be involved.
All residents, organisations and veterans are welcome to attend the War Memorial to lay a wreath anytime between Sunday, 8th November and Wednesday, 11th November 2020. This is to ensure there are no mass gatherings at the War Memorial. You are also welcome to lay a cross in the Garden of Remembrance next to the War Memorial.
Any organisations who normally order their wreaths through the RBL will be informed of the arrangements via publicity.
We hope as many of you as possible join us for the streamed service on 8th November 2020 at 10.45am (any change to the start time will be publicised in good time).
WE WILL REMEMBER THEM
