The Snowdrop & Plant Fair will return in 2022

The Plant Fair at Hole Park, organised by ‘The Plant Fairs Roadshow’ and admission includes the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful gardens at Hole Park in Rolvenden, Kent.

Hole Park Gardens have been owned by the Barham family for the past four generations and the 16-acre gardens and woodland have far-reaching views over the hills, woods and fields of the picturesque Kentish Weald. Visitors at this time of year will be able to see the beautiful tall agapanthus ‘Hole Park Blue’ in full flower. This striking late flowering agapanthus has been growing at Hole Park for over 100 years.

This year’s plant fair will bring together a wide range of small, independent nurseries run by specialist growers who are passionate about the plants they produce. The nurseries provide a whole spectrum of plants including cottage-garden favourites, shade-loving plants, alpines, trees and shrubs, succulents and many more.

The plant fair will also provide an opportunity to receive advice from these enthusiastic and knowledgeable nursery-owners and to discover some of the unusual and must-have plants they grow.

Hole Park’s Head Gardener, Quentin Stark, is also the ‘Plant Doctor’ at the roadshow events and said: “I have been a plantsman and professional gardener since I left school and head Gardener at Hole Park House and Gardens for over 20 years.

“At the Plant Fairs I will be answering horticultural questions such as ‘what is wrong with my plant?’ or ‘what will grow well in my garden?’ I often help with plant identification and advise on which plants are suitable for a particular garden. We also encourage visitors to bring photos and live material to help with plant identification and plant problems.”

The following nurseries were at the Hole Park Plant Fair in 2021: Beechbridge Plants, Blackstem Plants, Charleshurst Farm Nursery, Copton Ash, Hardys Cottage Garden Plants, Miles Japanese Maples, Mrs Mitchell’s Kitchen & Garden, Pelham Plants, Phoenix Perennial Plants, Pineview Plants, Plantbase, Rose Cottage Plants, Southon Plants, Swallowfields Nursery, Usual and Unusual Plants.

Gates will be open from 11am to 4pm. Entrance fee includes the opportunity to walk round the award-winning gardens and woodlands at Hole Park. The tearoom will also be open offering light lunches, cream teas and homemade cake with a choice of hot or cold drinks.

Hole Park is situated 4 miles west of Tenterden on the B2086 between Rolvenden and Benenden. For further information about Hole Park please visit https://www.holepark.com/
