A lipreading group run by deaf charity, HI KENT, for people living with hearing loss and wanting to improve their communication skills.
Our Tenterden group meets on Fridays between 2.30pm and 3.30pm at the Social Hub in Church Road. Enrolment is necessary before attending please. Spaces are available for September 2019 start.
Learning to lipread effectively can really help people living with hearing loss as it helps to 'fill in the gaps' in conversation that hearing aids may not pick up. Our group is currently free of charge and is run by a qualified lipreading tutor and hearing therapist with many years experience of helping people living with this challenge.
The group is relaxed and friendly and our students tell us that it is so helpful to be with others in the same situation. Being able to take part in social situations when you have a hearing loss is so important and can help avoid social isolation and depression.
If you have a hearing loss, learning to lipread can make a huge difference to your life. Why not give it a try? No experience needed, no cost involved.
