ALL WELCOME

At Tenterden Methodist Church, we have decided to mark International Organ Day by opening the church on the morning of April 23rd so that people can come along and find out more about how a pipe organ works, perhaps have a go themselves and also learn why the organ in this particular church is special: it is one of only a few WWI memorial organs.

The church will be open from 9am to noon for people to just walk in. The organ itself will be opened up so visitors can see the mechanism and discover how the instrument works, anyone who wants can have a play and – in between – someone will be demonstrating the functions of the various parts of the instrument.

Information about our organ’s important role as an official War Memorial to the residents of the town who gave their lives in World War 1 will also be available.
