Steam and Diesel trains will be running from Tenterden to Bodiam on Saturday 14th, Sunday 15th, Tuesday 17th and the weekend of 21st & 22nd February 2026. It’s the perfect time to spot winter birds and early signs of spring along the line.
Families will love our free bird-themed onboard activities — ideal for keeping young explorers busy while you travel. Become a Nature Detective for the day! See how many birds you can spot from the train.
Your journey between Tenterden and Bodiam takes around 50 minutes each way, and your ticket is valid all day. Break your trip at Bodiam and wander to the impressive National Trust castle just a short walk from the station. Show your train ticket for discounted castle admission
Sussex Wildlife Trust volunteers from Rye Harbour Nature Reserve will be travelling with us on Saturday 14th & 21st: 10.20 & 13.10 trains and Tuesday 17th: 10.20 & 13.10 trains
(subject to change). Look out for Sussex Wildlife Trust volunteers from Rye Harbour Nature Reserve on board! They’ll be chatting with passengers, answering questions, and pointing out the incredible wildlife you can see right from your seat.
Just remember to catch the last train back to Tenterden!
Well-behaved dogs are always welcome & travel free at the K&ESR (but not on the seats!)
