Father’s Day at the Kent & East Sussex Railway
Sunday 18th June 2023
The Wealden Pullman and On-Train Refreshment options are fully booked.
Travel aboard our special Fathers Day steam trains for a journey the entire family will enjoy!
The Wealden Pullman will be available for boarding at Northiam Station from 12.30pm for a 1pm departure. Join us for a complimentary aperitif whilst you chat to your fellow guests and admire the lovingly restored carriages. Liveried Pullman Attendants will be pleased to show you to your reserved table and provide any beverages required.
Following departure at 1.00pm, your three course roast luncheon is silver-served as the train steams to Bodiam - look out for the beautiful castle just a few hundred yards from the station. On arrival, the locomotive will "run round" the train in preparation for the journey to Tenterden, passing through Northiam again on the way. Enjoy the ever changing aspect from your window: wildlife abounds in the peaceful Rother Valley. The locomotive runs around again at Tenterden before returning the train to Northiam, reached at 3.20pm.
Alternatively, there are Ploughman's Lunches or a Cream Teas available on our scheduled trains, served at your seat in the comfort of our heritage carriages. Your train will travel through the beautiful Rother Valley from the historic Market town of Tenterden to the pretty country station at Bodiam.
Choose from a Ploughman's Lunch to enjoy aboard the 12:30pm departure or a Cream Tea aboard the 3:30pm departure - both from Tenterden Town Station, where there is free customer parking. Your seats will be reserved and our friendly team will serve your pre-booked refreshments, accompanied by tea or coffee, during the journey.
Family tickets for travel are available to purchase online for just £58 for a family of 3 or £63 for a family of 4. To make it an experience that the extended family can enjoy, online fares for additional travel tickets are £24.50 per Adult and £13.50 per Child (3-15 years).
Add a Ploughman's Lunch for £9.50 per person, or a children’s Munch Bag for just £5.50 on the 12:30 departure from Tenterden. If you're travelling on the 3:30pm departure, why not indulge in a Cream Tea for £9.50 per person? Kids Munch Bags are also available on this train. Perhaps make the occasion extra special and add a bottle of chilled Prosecco?
If you're travelling simply to enjoy the magic of steam, and don't require refreshments, there are limited seats available to pre-book via the button below
The Tea Room will be open, serving light refreshments to eat in or take on the train.
