Battle of Britain Air Show
25-27 June 2021
10am-5pm (flying due to start around noon)
Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, our 2020 event was the only conventional airshow to take place in Europe! Following the success of our event, we are pleased to announce the 2021 Battle of Britain Airshow at Headcorn Aerodrome will be held on 25th – 27th June 2021.
The first display act confirmed for the 2021 Battle of Britain Airshow is both C47 Dakotas 'Drag 'em Oot' and 'Pegasus' with the B17 Flying Fortress 'Sally B'. Sally B was last seen at Headcorn in 2019 where she stunned crowds with a breathtaking solo display.
The Aero Legends Dakotas were the stars of the 2020 event with their close formation display, we can't wait to display all three together for the first time at our 2021 event!
On March 5th 1936 Captain Joseph 'Mutt' Summers, chief test pilot at Vickers-Armstrong, took R. J. Mitchell's Type 300 fighter aircraft for it's first flight from Eastleigh airfield. The new fighter's name was confirmed as the 'Spitfire' on the 10th June, and a legend was born. 85 years later, we're working on a very special flying display to commemorate the iconic Spitfire. Heading up the display will be the Aero Legends pair, TD314 'St George' and NH341 'Elizabeth'.
The Duxford based ME109 will be returning to engage in a tail chase with Spitfire TD314 and the Aero Legends Yak 3. Also joining the 2021 Battle of Britain Airshow is Spitfire Mk I N3200, Spitfire Mk IX PT462 and Spitfire Mk XI PL983.
Returning to the skies above Headcorn this June will be the Stampe Display Team with their expertly choreographed formation display routine, together with the Aero Legends Tiger Moth bi-plane trio. We'll have both Aero Legend's Harvards with their show stopping pairs display routine and.. Our sister company, Vintage Aero, are working hard on the Aero Legends Yak-3 to see her return to the skies for the 2021 event. The Aero Legends Yak-3 is the fastest warbird in the hangar and is widely regarded as one of the finest fighters of the era - guaranteed to put on a show!
This will be our 6th event, exquisitely blending choreographed Battle-of-Britain era aircraft displays with family friendly attractions and re-enactments. We’re looking forward to engines roaring and crowds cheering for 12 one-of-a-kind air displays in the very airspace where the Battle of Britain took place over 80 years ago.
