We normally meet on the last Friday of each month in Woodchurch Memorial Hall at 7.30pm unless otherwise indicated. Bring your telescope/binoculars if the weather is clear.  Our meetings are open to all ages, but children under 16 must be accompanied.
Currently all meetings are via Zoom

Friday 27th November 2020: “Pluto” by Emma Thompson. In an update to her 2013 talk, Emma will be discussing the history of Pluto and its discovery, and how our knowledge of this mysterious dwarf planet has grown over the years – reaching a peak with the New Horizons mission.
Friday 18th December 2020: Christmas Quiz
Friday 29th January 2021: Astronomical Assortment. A collection of short talks by various members on a variety of subjects within astronomy. Sure to be interesting and entertaining, with something for everyone!

Friday 26th March 2021: TBC by Stephen Serjeant. Stephen Serjeant is Professor of Astronomy at the Open University and President of the Society for Popular Astronomy.

Friday 24th September 2021: “The Crowd and the Cosmos” by Chris Lintott. Chris Lintott is perhaps best known for his work as presenter of BBC’s Sky At Night Television series. He is also keen to encourage citizen science and will be promoting his book on the subject “The Crowd and The Cosmos”. Books will be available to purchase and have signed by Chris on the night.
