1940s Weekend at the Kent & East Sussex Railway
Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th May 2019
Tenterden Town Station
Enjoy period music, dancers, vehicles, displays and entertainment along the line and travel by steam train! Treat yourself at our vintage stalls with authentic clothing, accessories and militaria or get your hair done all curly and cool. You may even hear the sound of a Merlin engine and catch sight of a Spitfire. Marvellous.
The Tenterden Refreshment Rooms will be open for breakfast from 10am, with hot and cold meals served throughout the day. The gift shop is open throughout the weekend.
Admission including an all-day Travel Card: Adult £18, Child (3-15 years inc) £12, Family (2 adults 2 children or 1 adult and up to 3 children) £42. This popular event gets very busy so pre-booking tickets for collection on the day is strongly recommended. Enjoy an intensive train service with departures every 45 minutes!
Bodiam Castle is a short walk from Bodiam Station. Presenting a valid train ticket entitles passengers to discounted entry to Bodiam Castle.
There is free entry to the award-winning Col. Stephens Railway Museum, which tells the story of Col. H.F. Stephens, the founder of the Kent & East Sussex Railway, who promoted light railways across the country.
A fully packed event not to be missed.
