Wealden Times Midsummer Fair
8-11 June 2017
Hole Park Estate, Rolvenden
Home & Garden, Fashion & Accessories, Food & Drink, Talks & Demonstrations
The jazz band were blowing their trombones and the wind was flapping the marquees. The sun was in and out every few seconds while the black clouds threatened but stayed piled up half a mile away. Hints of hot food, curry, cakes, pizza, sausages tantalised, then were flicked away by the breeze. And there was perfume, Dorset soap, candles, exotic oils. There were fabrics to stroke, rugs to tug and surprises, flower pots, armchairs, a stuffed marten, wooden tables, woven reeds ... and all mixed together so you had to rummage. People carried home treasures, artwork, plants, bags & boxes, gifts & keepsakes. A successful fair and two more days still to go.
