Welcome to the Tenterden Singers
We are a friendly and enthusiastic choir of around thirty mixed voices, based at St. Mildred’s Church in Tenterden.
Our ages vary, from young mums to newly retired members as well as several veterans of long standing membership, giving a balanced sound from each voice part.
Our repertoire includes sacred and secular pieces, including items from musicals such as Phantom of the Opera, Godspell and Chicago, African American Spirituals and Folk Songs as well as Early Church music and works by contemporary composers.
Our concerts are a blend of serious and light hearted music. We also feature poetry and other readings of a seasonal, topical or humorous nature. We really enjoy the challenge of performance. We regularly perform in local churches, all in aid of charity.
We are always glad to consider invitations to perform from churches and charities. Our services are given freely but any contribution towards our Music Library and accompanist’s expenses, for example, would be very welcome and gratefully received.
Accompanists - We are most fortunate to be accompanied by talented musicians
New Members welcome. We rehearse on Tuesdays, in the Music Room at St Mildred's Church, from 8pm to 9.15pm. Our Musical Director is Stephen Pusey
