PROBUS is an association of retired and semi-retired men and women who join together to meet like minded professionals in retirement.
The club meets at the Little Silver Hotel in Tenterden at 11.30 for 12.00 on the first Thursday of each month. We have a speaker initially and then lunch at 1 pm. There is a lot of social mixing before the meeting and of course over lunch and afterwards.
HISTORY
"The Tenterden and District Probus Club was formed by members of Tenterden Rotary Club at a General Meeting on the 9 November 1993. Rotary decided they wanted to keep in touch with members who had decided they could no longer continue helping and assisting others due to health or age. The Probus format was ideal for this purpose, meeting regularly once a month where ex members could meet their friends and colleagues, have an interesting speaker followed by lunch. They could continue to have contact with their former rotary members and form new friendships with like-minded business and professional individuals. This proved to be a resounding success and the club prospered over the years."
