Tenterden Lions Club Lions International is the world’s largest and most active Service Club organisation, with clubs in very many countries all devoted to the concept of service to humanity. It is entirely non-political and non-secretarian. At a local level, clubs devote much time and hard work to raise funds, which are used mainly to support local charity needs.
Tenterden Lions Club was formed in 1957 and since then we have raised thousands of pounds for charity. These include West View Care Centre Sensory Room, Pilgrims Hospice, Tenterden Day Centre, Demelza’s Children’s Hospice, Holidays and activities for local disabled people including It’s a Knockout, Tenterden Tigers children’s football teams and local school projects.
We have also planted thousands of bulbs in the grass verges of Tenterden and helped individuals and many, many other deserving causes. Practical assistance is also provided when needed.
Our Club has 29 members who come from all walks of life. Club meetings are held at the White Lion Hotel in the evening of the 1st Wednesday of each month. If you would like to know more about Tenterden Lions Club please contact us.
The Tenterden Lions Club has produced a very useful Guide for the Disabled for the local Tenterden area. Download the Tenterden Guide for the Disabled here: www.tenterdenlionsclub.co.uk/tenterden-guide-for-the-disabled
