Tenterden High Street 2024 Year in Review
New Arrivals, Farewells, and What’s Next
2024 has been a year of exciting change for Tenterden High Street, with new businesses bringing fresh energy and some shops bidding farewell. As we reflect on the changes, let’s support our local businesses and ensure Tenterden High Street continues to thrive.
Welcome to Our New Arrivals!
This year, we’ve seen fantastic additions to Tenterden High Street. Comptons Kitchens Ltd opened its doors at 30 High Street in August, offering bespoke kitchen solutions. Lift Your Spirits, a unique venture by Marc Taylor Vodka, launched in May, brings an exciting twist to 64 High Street. Domino's Pizza began serving in May, and Manes Hair Space opened its salon in April. Creative enthusiasts can now visit Ethel Loves Me at 46 High Street, while Re-Fresh as a Daisy brings pre-loved treasures to Sayers Lane. The Grapevine Bar & Bistro joined us in August, and Blush Hairdressers began styling at 12 East Cross in September. December welcomed Tamarind Thai to 3 East Cross, completing a vibrant year of new openings.
A Fond Farewell
We’ve also said goodbye to some businesses. Savannah Cafe closed in March, as did Beau Boutique, which relocated to Ashford. Tenterden Methodist Church closed in May, marking the end of an era. Lloyds Bank’s mobile van made its final visit in May, and Love Figis, Bourbon Rose, and This Ancient Boro all closed their doors later in the year. Each of these businesses has left a mark on our community, and we wish their owners the best in the future.
Exciting Moves and Transformations
Several businesses have found new homes or undergone exciting changes. Ibbiddi Bobbidi Boo relocated to 23 High Street, while Vicki's Bridal Boutique moved to The Cellars at 3-5 High Street. Brunch & Brew expanded to larger premises at 50 High Street, and Rockits Sensory now operates from Embassy House. Kitchens Unlimited rebranded as Lily Rose Kitchens, and Tenterden Town Barbers welcomed a new owner.
Looking Ahead to 2025
Exciting renovations are already underway on the ground floor of Embassy House, 1-3 High Street, as Tenterden gets ready to welcome Calvero Lounge café-bar, opening on 22 January 2025.
