Tenterden & District Twinning Association
Tenterden is twinned with Avallon in Burgundy, France.
The Twinning Association was formed in 1989, following the signing of the Twinning Charter between the Town Councils of Tenterden and Avallon.
Our aims are to promote and organise exchanges of residents and friends between Tenterden and Avallon and to encourage commerce and friendship within and between townspeople. We organise exchange visits generally on a biennial basis, a party from Avallon coming to Tenterden one year, hosted by members of the Tenterden & District Twinning Association (TDTA) and a return visit to Avallon the following year. Membership is open to residents of Tenterden and the surrounding area. Membership per annum: £5 per adult, children under 16 £2.50 each. Knowledge of French is not essential.
"Welcome to Tenterden 2017" The Mayor of Tenterden, Councillor Justin Nelson and Members of Tenterden Town Council welcome French visitors from Avallon our twin town.
