Captain's Day
On Thusday 25th August 2016 Tenterden invited Hamstreet, Iden, Peasmarsh, The Grove, Biddenden and Headcorn bowls clubs to participate in in their annual Captain's Day Shield event. The event is sponsored each year by St James Place, who give a winner's prize of £100 and a three bottles of wine to the runners up. Three players from each club played against one of the six teams from Tenterden, to see which of the visiting clubs got the highest score over eighteen ends. Pauline Harmer, Vicky Britton and Kit Young, members of Iden Bowls Club were the winners with the runners up being Headcorn Bowls Club. The prizes were presented by Abdel Najid from St James Place
