Tenterden and District Local History Society

The usual programme includes seven lectures per year on Monday evenings. Meetings are held in St Mildred's Church 7.15pm for 7.30pm. There are two Coffee Mornings in St Mildred's Church Hall, and a couple of outings per year are usual.
Membership is £6 per year. Visitors are welcome to attend, at a cost of £3 per meeting. Members receive a regular newsletter; members can attend coffee mornings when the fascinating Tenterden Scrapbooks are on view, and are also invited to join in with outings which are arranged in the summer months.

We hope that members will come to the social events and bring their friends. Local history scrapbooks have been maintained for over 50 years and these will be on display. The Scrapbooks make a fascinating record of events as seen at the time by local newspapers and periodicals and photographs.

The collection of books, papers, etc. on local history belonging to the Society are stored in the Museum and can be made available to members on request.

Do visit and support the Museum in the Car Park in Station Road. Please contact the Curator (Tel. 07702 214402) if you would be willing to help as a volunteer at the Museum
