Frequently Asked Questions
How long are chiropody appointments
Appointments for routine chiropody are normally about 1/2 hour. Nail surgery and gait analysis appointments are about 1 hour.
Do you do home visits
No. I only offer clinic appointments.
What are orthotics
Orthotics (inserts, arch supports) are worn inside your shoes to re-align your feet to change the way you stand, walk and run. If you feet don't work properly then you might get foot pain, knee pain, hip pain and/or back pain. A simple insole might be all you need to help your pain. You do not normally need to change the type of shoe that you wear.
I've got a bandage on my leg can I still come and see you
If you have an ulcer on your leg you will probably have quite a large bandage covering the whole of the lower leg but I can still normally work around your bandage without removing it.
Which shoes do you recommend
The type of shoe you should wear will depend on your age, foot condition and lifestyle, and it is very important to wear a shoe that is appropriate for you. I can offer lots of advice about the different types of shoes available.
Do you recommend using foot cream
Yes. For dry skin on your feet I recommend CCS Foot Care Cream on a regular basis. For cracked and very dry heels I recommend CCS Heel Balm.
How long have you been qualified
I have been a chiropodist for over 35 years.
How do I pay
You can pay in cash or by debit/credit card
