From The Parish Church of St Mildred Tenterden booklet which is available to purchase in St Mildred's Church.
"This beautiful and impressive tower is one of a trio within a circuit of about twenty miles, the others being those of Ashford and Lydd, all built within about fifteen years of one another, Lydd in 1442-46, Tenterden from 1461 onwards, and Ashford 1475-83." "The view from the top of the tower is very fine, extending in clear weather to the sea and the coast of France."
At the top there are stunning views of Tenterden and the surrounding countryside.
