COVID UPDATE October 2020. The Rare Breeds Centre is open. Opening Hours - every day 10am - 4.30pm. All visitors must pre-book a slot even members https://rarebreedscentre.digitickets.co.uk/category/28779
Book online - 24 hours minimum before using either our Members or Non Members booking system. Bring your e-ticket to be scanned at our new outdoor driveway admissions. Please don’t turn up without pre-booking as we will have to turn you away - no tickets will be sold on the gate. This is from government advice to stay covid-secure. Park sensibly - being considerate to others. Wash your hands before you enter the farm at our new Admissions Hand Wash area. Enter the Farm through our new wide entrance through the arch.
Visit the Patio takeaway and get a burger to eat on the Farm. Have a fresh real coffee from the cabin or trailer and pick up a sausage roll or two. Paninis now served from the Cabin!
Visit Meet The Animals in your family groups only from 10am-4pm - we will be controlling admission carefully. Buy one of our £10 surprise toy bags (Our shop is currently still closed).
Don’t forget that on the Farm hand washing is much better for killing diseases. Alcohol gel doesn’t work as well so please do wash your hands as often as possible, especially before you eat. See us exercising the Birds of Prey in the Falconry Arena at 11.30am. Join in Pig Racing at 11am and 3.15pm (family/bubble groups only). Watch the Birds of Prey Display in the Falconry Arena 2.30pm. Please remember to social distance. Follow the one way routes.
A day out at The Rare Breeds Centre is cram packed with fun for the whole family. Set in 100 acres of beautiful countryside and with its unique mix of country fun, indoor play areas and educational opportunities, no other attraction offers so much to see and do!
Children are encouraged and get up close to our friendly farm animals in our undercover Children’s Barn and our farm staff are more than happy to answer any questions that the children may have.
Birds of prey are on view and there is a display at 2.30pm each day, which includes the majestic owls and a selection of our magnificent raptors…… and we love you to join in! Don’t forget the creepy crawlies…..if you dare.
If you are all feeling active, then there are plenty of outdoor activities, including The Mysterious Marsh, aerial runway, hill fort and assault course and tube maze. We also have some inclusive play equipment. Don’t forget the woodland walk, with a quiz trail, which takes you to the secret lake, a great place for a picnic in the summer. Relax in the tranquil Discovery Garden, which is a wonderful place to explore and learn. The butterfly tunnel is a mass of colour and activity in the warmer months, with its exotic residents fluttering around...everyone loves this peaceful place.
You could take a trailer ride to the top of the farm to appreciate the beautiful countryside and more of our farm animals ...getting off at the top to play on the Giant Snake or visit the Secret Lake and see the Green Man of the Woods. For the rainy days we have the indoor soft play, where mum can have a break whilst the kids enjoy themselves in complete safety.
The Granary restaurant offers a selection of hot and cold food and drinks at very reasonable prices.
Wheelchair access is good around the farm, but maybe difficult in the woodland areas.
