Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance
Tenterden Rotary Club Speaker 23 March 2017
Paul Butt accepted a cheque for £1000 on behalf of Kent Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance. The money was raised by collection over Christmas. The air ambulance costs £7 million a year to run, that averages £2,500 per mission. The ambulance crew consists of a doctor, a paramedic and the pilot. The medical equipment includes whole blood and plasma (paid for by the Henry Surtees Foundation). The response time from call to airborne is 4 minutes and the helicopter is never more than 30 min from one of the 3 county hospitals.
