Hi Kent, the local registered charity for deaf and hard of hearing people
Hi Kent runs free hearing aid aftercare clinics in towns, villages and communities throughout Kent. Our clinics are run by our trained volunteers and they will be able to change batteries, clean and re-tube hearing aids free of charge, while you wait. If you are housebound and cannot get to your local clinic, please request us to visit you in your home.
Our lipreading classes are also free of charge, anybody is welcome to attend if there is a place available and you can join at any time during the year. Priority is given to people with a hearing loss, although hearing students are very welcome if there is room. The classes are provided in partnership with Kent Adult Education. All are run by qualified lipreading tutors.
Hi Kent can also provide Deaf Awareness training for businesses for any front-line staff whose job brings them into contact with members of the public, and British Sign Language courses.
