COVID UPDATE, March 2021. Opening on 1st April for local visitors and a wider audience from 12 April. The house itself will be closed until 17 May 2021. Tickets must be purchased in advance except for Friends and Annual ticket holders who do not need to book. The Shop is closed until 12 April

Great Dixter was the family home of gardener and gardening writer Christopher Lloyd from 1921 to 2006.  Now Great Dixter is under the stewardship of the Great Dixter Charitable Trust and Christopher’s friend and head gardener, Fergus Garrett. Great Dixter is a beautiful historic house, a garden, a centre of education, and a place for horticulturists to visit from across the world.
