Sculptural pewter, copper & silverware for the home

Growing up in the 50's/60's in a home where Gill's father had his photography business was far from boring. There was a steady stream of journalist friends, scriptwriters and artists as well as  parties including a whacky photoshoot on a fire engine with Lord Snowdon. The consequence of this was that Gill immersed herself for decades drawing, painting, photography and set design. She discovered the magic of metal, initially silver and trained for five years with silversmith Owen Mahdlope-Phillips. Gill continues to make items in silver including jewellery, mostly to commission. Four pieces of jewellery were hired by BBC drama New Tricks and worn by actress Anna Calder Marshall in the episode Objects of Desire.

When a friend gave Gill a piece of sheet pewter for her to play with and she instantly fell in love with this gorgeously malleable metal and her first entry for Pewter Live won the award for Design and Collectability. Gill continues to be excited by pewter's properties and potential.

Gill's work is influenced by the ebb and flow of the sea and the natural world and she  has exhibited both nationally and internationally and is a member of The Association of Pewter Craftsmen Gill is also registered with the London assay office at the Goldsmiths Company.
