Friends of St Mildred's Approach Milestone Goal

In 2023, the Friends of St Mildred's (FOSM) are proud to mark nearly ten years since their formation. Over the past decade, this group of dedicated individuals has risen to the challenge, time and again, to ensure the preservation of one of our town's iconic landmarks - St Mildred’s Church.

A snapshot of FOSM's decade-long achievements:

  • Restorative Works: Spearheaded projects that breathed new life into the church, ranging from stonework restoration to intricate stained glass window repairs, lightning conductor refurbishment, and recently, the replacement of the nave roof tiles
  • Vibrant Events: Organised many events, from mesmerising classical music concerts to enthralling public talks, choirs and chamber music, and jazz events; all adding to FOSM's funds
  • Steady Growth: FOSM's membership base and financial resources have continually grown, thanks to membership fees, generous contributions, and significant legacies

To date, FOSM has managed to amass an impressive £187,000 through their combined efforts. With the next milestone in sight - a £200,000 target by the end of 2024 - they're calling on the community to rally behind this mission.

Jeremy Cooper, Chairman of FOSM, warmly invites those interested in supporting this initiative. "Become a Friend, contribute to our goal, or lend your talents to the Friends Committee," he urges. To express interest or offer support, Jeremy can be reached at 07738 980870 or via email >>>here

You don’t have to be a church member to join FOSM, indeed many are not
