Ashford and Tenterden are ideal bases from which to discover the very best of the Garden of England.
Set among beautiful ’Darling Buds of May’ countryside, a host of beautiful gardens, historic houses, steam railways, award-winning vineyards, windmills and small, unique attractions are waiting to be discovered.
Ashford’s high-speed train service means London is just 38 minutes away. Or hop on the Eurostar and visit Paris, Brussels and Lille in around two hours.
Tenterden, known as the ‘Jewel of the Weald’, is a typical English country town. The attractive high street is full of antique shops, tea rooms, inns and specialist shops to tempt you.
In 2018 Ashford will become like a scene from The Snowman and The Snowdog, as a magical public art experience arrives in the borough. Around 25 individually designed and beautifully decorated giant Snowdog sculptures will be placed around the streets and open spaces of Ashford to create a world-class trail. The extraordinary sculpture trail will be on display for 10 weeks from September 2018, building a buzz around Ashford's iconic locations and creating a festive feel in the lead up to Christmas.
