White Elephant Sale for Cry in the Dark
Saturday 10 June 2017, 9.30am-3.30pm
St Mildred's Church Hall
A team of 4 from St. Mildred's Church are going out to Romania again this summer to support the wonderful work of the Christian charity "Cry in the Dark". This charity has been going since 1998 when a orphanage was created after the charity's founder Steve Cooper witnessed first hand the dreadful plight of orphans in institutions that were the legacy of the Ceausescu regime. This orphanage is still running, providing a home for life for the children rescued from the state run institutions.
Cry in the Dark also now have a day care centre where children with life limiting illnesses and disabilities come twice a week to give their families respite and this same centre serves as the headquarters for a team of nurses and social workers who serve these same children. This wonderful charity is also creating a new children's hospice which is the first in Romania. They also continue to work and support a poor, isolated Roma village.
As volunteers, we give of our time to go and be involved in this amazing and rewarding work.
Please help us help them by offering your support with this event. At present we are looking for donations for the sale so if you are clearing out your attics, sheds, garages etc. and feel you would like to give to this sale then please contact Terry Norrington at firstname.lastname@example.org
