The organisers of the Great Kent Chilli Festival have announced an exciting schedule of talks and demonstrations for this year’s festival which takes place on 30 June and 1 July 2018 in the picturesque countryside setting of Hole Park in Rolvenden, Kent.

Belle Case, founder of the local catering and cookery school business Belle’s Kitchen, will be sharing her knowledge of spicy Thai food, which she learnt growing up in the South of Thailand. Spence Westcott will be sharing his kitchen expertise built on years of working in elite restaurants in London such as the Park Lane Club as well as with his own hospitality business. Hari Ghotra, founder of the biggest Indian food platform in UK of the same name and chilli judge at the Great Taste Awards, will be demonstrating spicy Indian home-cooking.

For chilli plant growers, chilli expert and comedian Rob Dumbrell will be giving top tips both days on growing chillies and will be bringing along a selection of over 30 varieties of his own chilli plants that can be seen in the plant exhibition tent.

For music, Mariachi Band ‘Mariachi el Mexicano’ will be touring around the festival with their cheerful tunes of traditional Mexican music. ‘Contraband’ will be bringing you covers of dynamic pop and rock songs in a varied set bringing something for everyone. The cheery alt-folk band ‘Hobo and the Hippies’ will be performing their original songs and the ‘Biggin’ Hillbillies’ will be bringing their banjos, fiddles and more for the genuine acoustic sound of American mountain music.

THE VENUE
The Great Kent Chilli Festival will be held at the well-known Hole Park. The stunning gardens were voted Visit Kent’s Garden of the Year in 2016, and entry to the 16 acre garden is included in the chilli festival ticket.
