Event Dates and Times
A study morning about Romney Marsh, presented by Tenterden U3A in association with Cranbrook, Goudhurst, Hawkhurst, Rye and Weald U3As. The Marsh, with its windswept trees, mysterious winding ditches, grazing sheep and ancient churches, haunts the imagination. Ecclesiastical historian John Vigar explains how the Churches of the Romney Marshes came to be built and what they tell us about our ancestors. Photographer and writer Tom Evans shows how five modern Artists of the Marsh interpret the place and its people through painting, graphics, photography and video.
